Mentors MS Dhoni to lead India’s T20 World Cup squad, MS Dhoni Named Coach of India’s T20 World Cup Team: In a press conference to select the squad for the T20 World Cup, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that former India captain MS Dhoni would be the team’s coach. The tournament will begin on October 17 in the UAE and Oman.

Mohd Shami. Standbys: Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar

Having played his last game in the 2019 World Cup semi-final, Dhoni, 40, announced his retirement from international cricket in 2018. Apparently, he has a lot of expertise with white-ball strategy and winning crucial ICC tournaments, something his successor hasn’t had.

India’s enigmatic wicketkeeper-batter guided his team to two world titles, including the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, and the 2011 ODI World Cup in India, which were all won by India.
